We hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving break. What a marvelous time of the year. Students were so excited to see the first snow flakes. Soon our school will be filled with Christmas carols and decorated classrooms. A wonderful time to be here!
LOCKDOWN - We had our first lockdown drill this week. It is necessary that our students know what to do in an emergency situation. Everything went well.
PICTURES - Daystar Photography will be her Friday, Dec. 2 to do remakes and take photos of students who were absent Oct. 18 when the first pictures were taken. They will also be taking candid shots and special groups for the yearbook.
CHRISTMAS CHOIR CONTERT - The high school / Jr. high Christmas concert will be Sunday, December 4 at 7:00 p.m. in the Waterford United Methodist Church. Our Jr. High choir members will practice at the high school Friday, Dec. 2 from 8 - 10 a.m.They are to get off the bus at the high school that morning.
CHRISTMAS PROGRAM - Everyone is invited to our K-4 Christmas program on Dec. 19 in the Cooper Gym at 7:00 p.m. Santa will be making an appearance after the program.
SECRET SANTA - The PTO Secret Santa shop will be the week of Dec.12-16 from 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. daily. This is a great opportunity for your children to do their "secret" shopping. We will again offer some Waterford items. These will cost $5.00. All other items will be $2.00. We need some parent volunteers to help with this. If you are interested call the school (984-2342) or send a note.
STAR STUDENTS - Second grade students who earned 93% or above in reading and math are recognized as Star Students this grading period. First grade will be included in the second grading period. CHRISTMAS BREAK - Christmas break begins Thursday, December 22 and classes will resume Tuesday, January 3.
- The time is drawing near when bad weather may cause school closing
or delays. In this event it will be broadcast on radio WXIL, WMOA/WJAW
and WNUS. It will also appear early across the screen on WTAP-TV and
wtaptv.com. On rare occasions
school may be dismissed early during severe weather. Please make arrangements
for your child in case this is necessary. It is impossible to call
parents and our lines are too busy to take your calls.
