MARCH came in like a lamb. We hope it doesn't go out like a lion. Spring is right around the corner. The Easter flowers and tulips are up in our patio. We have many activities scheduled for March.
REGISTRATION FOR NEXT YEAR is March 12 - 16. The child must be 5 years old
before August 1, 2012. Please bring birth certificate, shot records, Social Security
card and custody paper if it applies. This is registration only. An appointment
will be made at this time for the screening on March 29 and 30. Please pass this
information on if you know someone who might not get the message.
SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR March 19-23. More information sent home later.
NIGHT AT McDONALD'S Wed., March 14. Our PTO is sponsoring a McTeacher night
at McDonald's in Beverly. Teachers will be working there from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m.
The PTO will receive 20% of the sales during that time. They will also be selling
$5.00 coupon booklets. They will receive all the money from the booklets. The
money will be spent to bring children's poet Kenn Nesbitt to visit our school.
A great night to have a meal at McDonald's, support your PTO, and see your teachers
at work! Teachers will be easy to recognize. They will be wearing Waterford green.
RIF - The American Legion Auxiliary #389 will be holding a Reading Is Fundamental program here March 19. Each child in grades K-6 will receive a book. This is a wonderful program.
INDIVIDUAL PICTURES - Daystar Studio will be taking individual spring pictures on March 20th. Information will be sent home later.
TERRA NOVA TESTS will be given the week of March 26. March 27 - grades 3, 5, 7 science and social studies; March 28 - grades 4, 6, 8 science and social studies. March 29 and 30 second grades all parts.
JUMP ROPE FOR HEART - During the week of March 5th, students in grades K-6 will be getting donations for our annual American Heart Association's Jump Rope For Heart fundraiser. Students are asked to work hard on getting donations for the next two weeks and by Friday, March 16, have the donation envelopes turned back in to their gym teacher. Jr. High students will collect money for the Elle Foundation. Top donation collectors will receive valuable gifts for their efforts.
