Well! It's hard to believe that December is here. The children are excited to see the first snow. Hopefully we will not be missing any more days before Christmas break. We have several special happenings before that.

FOOD DRIVE - The WES Jr. High Student Council is again sponsoring a Christmas Food Drive from Dec. 13 - 21 to benefit the local food pantry. The top three classes that bring in the most items wins a pizza party.

PTO SECRET SANTA SHOP - The Secret Santa Shop will be open next week Dec. 6 - 10 daily from 8:30 - 2:00. This is a fun opportunity for your child to buy 'secret' gifts for the family.

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM - The K-4 Christmas program will be Monday, Dec. 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the Cooper gym. Santa will be making an appearance. Everyone welcome!
There will be no PTO meeting this month.

CHOIR - The annual winter choral concert is this Sunday (Dec. 5th) starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Waterford United Methodist Church. As a reminder, choir students need to be in the high school music room by 6:15 p.m. for warm-ups and last minute instructions. All are welcome to attend!
Choir pizza orders will be delivered to the school on Thursday, Dec. 9th around 12:30. Parents, please let Mrs. Majoy know if you can help with the distribution. Thanks! Also, if your child had several orders, please make arrangements for the kits to be picked up.

BAND - The Christmas Band Concert will be held on Wed., Dec. 8th at 7:00 p.m. on the Cooper Gym Stage. The concert will feature grades 5-12, and will be about an hour in length. 7-12 band members must be on the stage no later than 5:30 for a quick rehearsal and warm-up, and 5-6th grade should report to the stage no later than 6:15 for a quick rehearsal and warm-up.
*Dress for the concert is black pants, black shoes, and Christmas colors on top (red, green, white, and black). Christmas ties are more than welcome.
*Refreshments will follow in the commons.
*Concert attendance is 40% of the band student's overall grade. Please plan to attend.

BEVERLY PUBLIC LIBRARY is having Christmas Party December 7 from 4-5 p.m. for school age children. There will be crafts and food!

GRANT - Waterford Elementary has received a $750 grant from the ExxonMobile Educational Alliance program to support the school's math and science programs. Beverly ParMar worked with school officials to secure the grant, which is one of 2,499 available to schools across the country served by Exxon or Mobil stations. The grants were made possible by funding from the ExxonMobil Corportiooon. Thank you!
