STAR STUDENTS - Second graders who earned 93% or above in reading
and math are recognized as Star Students this grading period. The
first grade will be included in the second grading period. Star students
for this grade period are Cade Campbell, Colleen Campbell, Kaylea

Oliver, Joseph Pantelidis, Karlee Ross, Carson Sampson, Jake Sarver,
Connor Shook, Emma Smith, Luke Teters, and Ben Trader.
CONTEST WINNER - Tess Teters recently won a Peace Poster contest
sponsored by the Leos club. Her poster has been sent to state competition.
THANKS BEVERLY CITIZENS BANK for furnishing awards for our honor roll
students. It is very much appreciated!
SNOW DAYS - The time is drawing near when bad weather may cause
school closing or delays. In this event it will be broadcast on radio
WXIL, WMOA/WJAW and WNUS. It will also appear early on WTAP-TV and
wtaptv.com. On rare occasions school may be dismissed early during
severe weather. Please make arrangements for your child in case this
is necessary. It is impossible to call parents and our lines are too
busy to take your calls.
LOCKDOWN - Our school is required to have a practice lockdown
drill before Dec. l. Lockdown will be used in cases where safety of
students is involved. For example: stranger is in the building, gun
fire, police helicopter overhead, civil disruption and/or active shooting
in the building. Hopefully we will never have to use a lockdown but
we must be prepared. Please help us to make sure that your child is
not frightened. It is similar to a fire or tornado drill.
GENERAL MUSIC - The first grade students will be making a music
project in class and so we're requesting any empty Kleenex boxes for
one of the materials. Thank you so much for your contribution!
School coats are a must at Waterford Elementary, hats and glove would
be helpful! Please teach your child to store hats and gloves in their
coat sleeves and/or coat pockets. Students will be going outside in
weather warmer than twenty degrees. Cool air wakes up the mind and
in addition kills weak germs. Students get sick from germs, not winter
air. Please help prepare your students for outside winter fun by encouraging
them to dress for the weather.
THANKSGIVING - For the third year Jukebox Pizza if offering
a free traditional Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving day from 11:00
a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to anyone who would like to come. Questions call
