EXTENDED DAYS - Reminder that beginning Tuesday, March 1 and ending March 31the school day will be extended an extra 30 minutes - 15 minutes a.m. and 15 minutes p.m. The day will be 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. at the elementary school. This will equal 2 days toward our snow make-up days. Other make up days will be April 2, May 27 and May 31 (as per the calendar).

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION - Reminder that registration for next year's kindergarten is March 7 - 11. Please bring birth certificate, shot records, Social Security number, and a custody paper if that applies. This is just registration and it is not necessary to bring your child. An appointment will be made for the screening April 7 and 8. REGULAR KINDERGARTEN CLASSES ARE CANCELLED APRIL 7 - 8.

JUMP ROPE FOR HEART. Mr. Ryan and Mrs. Price want to remind students in K-6 grades to continue to collect donations for the American Heart Association's Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart fund-raiser, while the Junior High students need to continue collecting donations for the Elle Foundation. Top donation collectors will receive valuable gifts for their efforts. Deadline to turn in donations is March 11th.

GYM SHOES - Parents / guardians of K-2 Physical Education students please remember your child needs tennis shoes to be successful in gym. The winter is over and it is time to put away the boots at least on gym days. We will be working on jumping rope, wiffle ball, soccer and President's Fitness Award none of which can be done successfully in boots. Thanks so much to the loyal tennis shoe wearers! Mrs. Price.

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS - remember to turn your clocks one hour ahead March 13.

NURSE NOTES: The 30th Annual Shamrock Classic 5K Run & Walk for Cancer will be held in Marietta on March 12, 2011 at 8:00 a.m. There is a $3.00 discount if registration is post-marked by March 4th. Go to fryedental.com to download an application or stop by my office.
Please sign and return the Body Mass Index forms for grades K, 3, 5. Remember, it is helpful information for us. No names will be attached.

VOLUNTEERS - State law states that all volunteers must have a current fingerprint backgound check. This will include volunteers to chaperone field trips. Backgound checks may be done at our county office - Ohio Valley Educational Service Center at 115 Victory Place in Marietta. (373-6669 for information) Volunteers must also be approved by our local school board.

BOXTOPS - We submitted our Boxtops for Education last week with a total of $1,139.10. Thanks to Mrs. Jean Thomas for clipping and bundling eleven thousand boxtops! It would help very much if you could send them in already clipped. A big thanks to everyone who contributed. Keep saving!
