NO SCHOOL - There will be no school for students on Monday, September 21. Teachers will have a professional work day.

PM MESSAGES - We will try to accommodate you if your child needs a message for after school pick up or a bus pass to go home with someone, etc. However, please call before 2:45 p.m. Messages received later than that are difficult to receive and deliver. Buses are held up while we try to find your child.

VISITORS - Reminder that all visitors to the building must register in the office. Permission must be given before you proceed further into the building. Please do not go directly to your child's classroom. If you with to speak to a teacher, inform the office and arrangements will be made. If you must pick your child up early, office personnel will get your child for you.

TARDINESS - Any period of time out of class, whether at the beginning of the school day, the end of the school day, or sometime in between will be considered tardiness. A 'tardy' is arriving at school between 8:20 and 9:00 a.m. or leaving school after 2:00 p.m. Four tardies equal ½ day absent. Students leaving during the school day for a doctor's appointment, - if time exceeds 2 hours or more and if student returns will equal ½ day absent. Less that two hours will be a tardy.

PTO OPEN HOUSE - The September PTO meeting will be Monday, September 28 at 7:00 p.m. in the H. W. Cooper gym. After a short meeting, parents are encouraged to attend our Open House and visit your child's classroom. There will be sign-up sheets in the classrooms for parents wanting to volunteer as Room Mothers. If you have a child in school you are a member of the PTO. Everyone is welcome!

PARENT CONFERENCES - Parent - Teacher conferences are scheduled for Thursday, October 1. School will be dismissed at 2:00 p.m. and conferences will be 2:15-8:00 p.m. Your child's teacher will be contacting you soon.

TEACHER APPRECIATION COMMITTEE - The PTO is requesting anyone who would like to volunteer for the Teacher Appreciation Committee to call the school. This committee contributes food for teachers on conference days and a treat for teacher appreciation week. School office (984-2342).

NURSE NOTES: We are continuing to screen for head lice. Please remind your children not to share hats, combs or brushes and keep long hair up in braids or a pony- tail. You can help by looking at your child's hair and scalp occasionally. Thanks so much!

BOXTOPS FOR EDUCATION - We are again collecting Boxtops for Education symbols and also codes from Campbell's labels. Keep saving! Last year we received more than $800 from the Boxtops program. Each one is worth 10 cents. This is a good program!!
