NO SCHOOL - There will be no school Monday, September 7 (Labor Day)

T-SHIRT SALE - Reminder that the Waterford PTO is selling "Excellent" t-shirts. Our school district was the only one in the county to be rated Excellent by the State of Ohio. Wear it with pride! $12.00 children and adult sizes.

PTO - The PTO officers would like volunteers for their Teacher Appreciation Committee. This committee has traditionally furnished food for the teachers on both parent - teacher conference days and a treat during teacher appreciation week. If you would like to volunteer call the school and Mrs. Ball will take your name.

TENNIS SHOES - All students grades 3 - 8 are asked to have a separate clean pair of tennis shoes for gym class. These shoes do not have to be new, just clean and used only for our new gym floor. Students K, 1, and 2 should just wear tennis shoes to school on gym days as the cafeteria floor where they have gym is slippery and dangerous without proper shoes.

FARMERS MARKET - Waterford FFA Alumni Farmers Market will continue at the elementary parking lot Thursdays from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. through the end of September.

NURSES NOTES - Thanks to all that have sent in bandaids - it is a huge help! We need to keep even the tiniest wounds/hangnails covered!!
Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has recommended all children ages 6 months - 18 years receive the flu vaccine that fights against the new HlNl (swine) flu. The Health Department will come to the school and offer that vaccine to your children for FREE. Please watch for a packet of information to come home with your child regarding this vaccine. It is important that you sign the form and return it to school stating whether you do want your child to receive the vaccine, or your refusal. We will be reinforcing hand washing often with soap and water or use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers. You can help by teaching your child not to share drinks or food with others and to cough/sneeze into a tissue or their sleeve, NOT in their hands. Keep your child home if they are fevered (above 100 degrees F) and they are not to return until they are fever free without medicine for 24 hours. Other symptoms include: sore throat, cough, stuffy or runny nose, body aches, headache and feeling very tired. There is a lot of information on the website www.cdc.gov/hlnlflu/qa.htm. Thanks so much for your help in keeping our students healthy.

CALENDAR UPDATE - There will be no school for students Monday, September 21. Teachers will have a professional work day.

VISITORS - All visitors to the building must register in the office before proceeding into the building. All doors will be kept locked for safety reasons except the front door by the office.
