January seemed to go by very fast. If February does too, spring will be here before we know it. Wishful thinking!
PARTIES - K-4 Room Mother Valentine parties will be Wednesday,
February 10 at 2:30. RIF - The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 389
will again be distributing books to K-6 students on February 10. This
is a wonderful program.
NO SCHOOL - There will be no school for students on Friday, February 12th. The teachers will be working as a Professional Development day. No school also on Monday, February 15th, President's Day. Classes will resume as usual on Tues. Feb. 16th.
100 DAYS - Kindergarten and 1st grades will be celebrating the 100th day of school on Tues. Feb.16th. Kindergarten will also observe Chinese New Year on Wed. Feb. 17.
SPELLING BEE - Our District Spelling Bee was Feb. 3. The top 4 winners were: 1st place Derek Huck, 2nd place Madison Sury, 3rd place Bobby Thomas, 4th place Taylor Hilverding. They will advance to the Regional Bee at Marietta High School March 12 at 7:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION - Registration for next year's kindergarten will be the week of March 15 - 19. This is registration only and an appointment will be made at this time for the screening in April. Your child must be 5 years old before August 1, 2010. You will need to bring birth certificate, shot record, Social Security number, and a custody paper if this applies to you. Shots required to enter school are 5 DPT, 4 Polio, 2 MMR, 3 Hepatitis B, and 1 Varicella (Chickenpox) Your child does not need to be present at this time. You may come in at your convenience any day that week between 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- Grade 2 students whose average was 93% and above in reading and
math are listed as Star Students. Grade 1 students will be included
next grading period. They are: Alyssa Doak, Zane Heiss, Cierra Hilverding,
Katelyn Huck, Jasmine Lemon, Tyler McVey, Marissa Neader, Cage Perdue,
Hayden Reynolds, Miranda Sampson, Buddy Stephan, Brooks Suprano, Jonathon
Wagner, Joseph Zimmer.
