TWAS THE WEEK BEFORE CHRISTMAS and all through the building special activities are happening. This is such an exciting time of the year for everyone. First and second grades enjoyed the 'Nutcracker" play last week in Marietta. The choir presented a beautiful Christmas concert last weekend, and the band is rehearsing for their concert December 20th at 2:30 in the high school gym. (Students meet in high school Band Room at 1:30 p.m.) Carols can be heard with K-4 students practicing for their program. There is just a wonderful atmosphere in our building.

K-4 CHRISTMAS PROGRAM will be Monday, December 21 at 7:00 p.m. in the Cooper gym. Santa will take time from his busy schedule to make an appearance. Everyone is cordially invited to attend.

FOOD DRIVE - The Jr. High Student Council has been collecting goods for the Beverly-Waterford Food Pantry. The collection has been extended until Tuesday, December 22 when the food will be delivered to the Food Pantry. The three rooms collecting the most items will be treated to a pizza party. Thanks to everyone for your generosity.

SECRET SANTA - The PTO Secret Santa shop will be open all this week through Friday, Dec. 18. Hours are 8:30 - 2:30 daily. There is still time for your children to do some 'secret' shopping. All gifts are $2.00.

YEARBOOKS - 2009-2010 elementary yearbooks will go on sale in January. The price will be $12.00 again this year. Order forms and more information will be sent home then.

FREEZER - A big thank you to Thermo Fisher Scientific for donating a freezer to our school cafeteria. It is much needed and appreciated.

NURSE NOTES - The Washington County Health Department will be here Monday, Dec. 21 at 8:30 a.m. to complete the second dose H1N1 vaccine for students age 9 years and younger. FYI: Currently the fluoride mouth rinse program is on hold while the state is evaluating and making necessary changes to the program. I anticipate that it will not resume until next school year 2-10-2011. Thanks for your patience

CHRISTMAS BREAK - Christmas vacation will begin Wednesday, December 23 and classes will resume Monday, January 4th. We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We'll see you next year -2010!
