Thanksgiving is over and we hope that everyone had a happy and healthy break. December is always an exciting time at school with all the activities. Just three weeks left until Christmas!

BAD WEATHER - The cold mornings reminds us that we need to be prepared in the event that school will be cancelled due to inclement weather. Closings will be announced on WTAP-TV and radio WXIL, WMOA/WJAW, and WNUS. You may also check the internet at www.wtap.com. Closings are listed on WTAP-TV beginning at 5:00 a.m. Rarely we may be dismissed early in the day due to severe weather. Please make an alternate plan with your children if this should happen. The phone lines are tied up and we cannot contact parents. Again, listen to your radio in this event.

NUTCRACKER - Grades 1 and 2 will be going to Marietta High School on Friday, December 11 to see a presentation of 'The Nutcracker'. They will be leaving school at 9:45 and will return around 12:00 noon. They will have a box lunch.

BAND - *After school Christmas Concert rehearsals have been scheduled. The location of these rehearsals are subject to change! Christmas Band rehearsals: December 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, 16. *These rehearsals will be at the high school, and are from 3:30-no later than 5:00. This is the only way we can rehearse this music as a group due to scheduling conflicts. These rehearsals are not mandatory but STRONGLY recommended. The concert is December 20th at 2:30 p.m. at the high school gym.

PEP BAND
- Pep Band is fast approaching, and Mr. Laswell needs as many students as possible to participate. Pep Band schedule (also posted on the band website under the events link): Dec. 8, 11, 22, Jan.5, 9, 15, 22, Feb. 2, 5, 19. *Pep band rehearsals will be the night of each home basketball game from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. *Students who are enrolled in the band class will receive 5 points extra credit for each Pep Band game attended. Questions regarding schedules, please call Mr. Laswell or stop in his room ASAP.

CHOIR - Jr. High and High School Choir Christmas concert will be Dec. 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the Waterford Methodist Church. Jr. High choir members are asked to bring one dozen cookies. Students are to be there at 6:15.

FOOD DRIVE - The Jr. High Student Council is sponsoring a food drive to benefit the Beverly-Waterford Food Pantry. See the back of this page for more information.

SECRET SANTA - The PTO will again sponsor a Secret Santa Shop where your child may do their 'secret' shopping. All gifts will be $2.00. It is scheduled for Dec. 14-18 from 8:30-2:30 daily and will be downstairs in the study hall room.
