VOLLEY FOR A CURE We have had tremendous support for the Volley for a Cure (to fight breast cancer) this week. Our building has been filled with hot pink t-shirts. Waterford and Fort Frye teamed up for their volleyball game Monday night. Proceeds from the game will be donated to the cancer research fund. The Student Council sold pink ribbons and bracelets and are sponsoring a Penny Drive all this week. Please donate your spare change for this worthy cause. The grade level bringing in the most money will be treated to popcorn and a movie. Thanks for your support!
NATIONAL LUNCH WEEK We will celebrate National School Lunch Week October 13 17. Parents or grandparents of students in grades K-3 are invited to eat the school lunch with their student. The schedule is as follows:
KA Monday, Oct. 13 lunch time 10:45 a.m.
KB Tuesday, Oct. 14 lunch time 10:45 a.m.
Grade 1 Wednesday, Oct. 15 lunch time 10:50 a.m.
Grade 2 Thursday, Oct. 16 lunch time 11:10 a.m.
Grade 3 Friday, Oct. 17 lunch time 11:15 a.m.
Reservation forms were sent home last week. Please return promptly so that enough food can be ordered. Send no money now. Please pay in the office when you arrive.
CHICKEN BBQ The Waterford Band Boosters are having their annual chicken barbecue from 4:00 to 7:00 (or until sold out) Friday, October 10 in the elementary cafeteria. The dinners will include chicken, baked potato, green beans, roll, pie and
drink. ½ chicken dinners are $7 and Ό dinners are $6. ½ chicken only $5, Ό chicken only $3, whole chicken only $7. Take out dinners are available. For more information call Andrea Lawlor 749-3529 or school (984-2342).
BOOK FAIR The Student Council is sponsoring a Scholastic Book Fair all next week Oct. 13 17. A list of books and prices were sent home this week. Hours will be daily from 8:30 a.m. 12:30 p.m.
FARM CITY DAY The fifth graders will be traveling by bus to Schramms farm for Farm/City Day Friday, Oct. 10th. This is sponsored by the ASCS farm services. A free lunch will be provided.
CHOIR BOOSTERS meeting on Oct. 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the elementary choir room.
HALLOWEEN CLASS PARTIES will be Friday, Oct. 31 at 2:30. Head homeroom mothers need to contact their list of other volunteer mothers to make arrangements for the party. The list of classroom volunteers was sent home last Friday.
