CORRECTION TO THE SCHOOL CALENDAR – Thanksgiving break will be November 27, 28 and Dec. 1.
MUSIC NEWS – Officer’s Choir Booster meeting will be on Oct. 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the choir elementary room. Thanks to Doug Baldwin for cutting our bamboo for the pan pipe instrument project of the general music fifth grade.
PEE WEE BOYS BASKETBALL – Any boy 3rd through 6th grade interested in signing up for Pee Wee Basketball needs to have a parent attend a MANDATORY sign-up meeting this Saturday, October 25, 2008 in the Cooper Commons area at 12:00 noon. Deadline for sign-ups is October 25, 2008. NO EXCEPTIONS. Questions call Jackie @ 749-3832 or Dawn @ 336-1500.
BOXTOPS – Keep savings those boxtops! They are worth 10 cents each. The money earned is spent on student awards, etc. Also we need just the bar code from Campbell’s products, not the whole label.
ART FEES – Reminder that if your child has not paid the $3.00 art fee, please take care of this as soon as possible.
REPORT CARDS will go home Friday, October 31st.
PICTURE REMAKES – The photographer will be here Nov. 4 to do remakes and to catch up on anyone who missed earlier.
NURSE NOTES: The “Tooth Fairy” made a visit to the second and third grade classrooms last Friday. She came from Dr. Eckels’s office and did a great job educating the students about teeth care and orthodontics (braces).
Be aware that we have had confirmed cases of strep throat. Spread from person to person occurs through direct contact with mucus from the nose or throat of infected persons. Please continue to encourage frequent hand washing and sneezing or coughing into your sleeve (at the bend of your arm), instead of your hands.
HALLOWEEN – K-4 Room Mother parties are Friday, Oct. 31 at 2:30. Children may bring a costume. Trick or Treat night in Beverly and Waterford is Thursday, Oct. 30 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
TIME CHANGE – Daylight Savings time ends November 2. Remember to set your clocks back one hour.
SPORTS – The Jr. High football team will play their last game next Thursday, Oct. 30 at Belpre.
