NURSE NOTES

February is American Heart month sponsored by the American Heart Association. Students in grades K-5 have begun to bring home collection envelopes for our annual jump rope for heart event scheduled for March 9 - 13.

Every year students are given jump ropes, water bottles for individual donation levels achieved. A terrific idea has been formulating among our student population. If all students K-5 pool their money and meet a goal of $5,000.00, the school could earn the Wii Game System and everyone could benefit. Individual prizes would not be earned if we did it this way. Let us know what you think. Students in grades 6, 7 and 8 will be gathering donations for a new organization to benefit congenital heart defects. Please check out the
website at: www.theellefoundation.org.

Former Waterford graduate Zack Arnold (teacher David Arnold's son) and Zack's wife Krista recently lost a child to a congenital heart defect and formed the Elle Foundation in honor of daughter Elisabeth Arnold. All
donations go directly to research for the treatment of congenital heart defects. Please check out the website for this very worthy cause! We will have a ?kick-off/assembly on Monday, March 9th at 2:30 p.m. for grades K-8. Krista Arnold has committed to us on that afternoon and will share her thoughts with us. (She hopes to be able to bring Zach too!)
