CALAMITY DAYS – Tuesday morning’s snow reminded me that we need to be prepared in the event that school will be cancelled due to inclement weather.  Closings will be announced on radio WXIL, WMOA/WJAW, WNUS, and WTAP-TV.  You may also check the internet at   Closings are listed on WTAP-TV beginning at 5:00 a.m.  Rarely we may be dismissed early in the day due to severe weather.  Please make an alternate plan with your children if this should happen.  The phone lines are jammed and we cannot contact parents.  Again, listen to your radio in this event.

PTO NEWS – Thanks so much for your support for the holiday raffle.  The PTO will send home an update on the raffle winners and names of students later this week.  Plans are being made for the Christmas PTO Secret Santa Shop where the students may do some ‘secret’ shopping.  A list of items available and prices will be sent home.  There will be nothing over $5.00.  The dates for the shop will be December 8 – 12.  Any mothers who would like to volunteer to help, let us know.

CHOIR – The choir boosters are selling Waterford Wildcat hooded sweatshirts, pajama pants, boxers, and blankets from Sideline Sports.  They are also selling Waterford Wildcat paw print jewelry.  There are earrings, necklace, and a key chain.  The jewelry is in the glass display case in our hallway.  Hopefully soon we will have samples of the clothing.

TOYS FOR CHILDREN – Applications have been sent out for applications for the Toys For Children program sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary Unity 389.  There is a collection tub in the office for donations of new or gently used toys.  The deadline to apply is November 21.

UPCOMING – The K-4 Christmas program will be Monday, December 15 at 7:00 p.m. in the H. W. Cooper gym.  Everyone is invited to attend.

Christmas Vacation will be Dec. 22 – Jan. 2.  Classes will resume Jan. 5.

THANKSGIVING  BREAK  - There will be no school Thanksgiving day Nov. 27, Nov. 28 and Monday, Dec. 1.  Take this time to relax and count your blessings as you and your family celebrate Thanksgiving.  We have many things to be thankful for this day and every day.  Enjoy the break and we’ll return Tuesday, Dec. 2.  There will be no Wildcat Connection next week.
